Interview with narvent

Hello to all readers of Ø of ambient! Please welcome our fith guest, a Russian musician: narvent. 

What is your past? 

I started making music at the age of 11 in 2015 through a program called Cubase. Later I started producing music with FL studio, studying with the trial and error method. My first official release arrived in the autumn of 2018 and in only 2023 I received significant streams and listeners with the track “Memory Reboot” with VØJ. 

What is your present? 

My name’s narvent, I’m a 21 years old Russian music producer. I love pizza, especially with lots of cheese. I write lots of music, so I have a constant ringing in my ear, this decease is called tinnitus and I’m afraid of large dogs such as German Shepherds or Dobermans. 

What is your future? 

Today, I continue creating music driven by the same passion that started it all: the desire to build something inspired from my most powerful emotions, nostalgia and hope.

I think my music can be defined as a hymn of humanity and to let us remember: just need to light a candle in the darkest times. 

Special questions:

1. Do you have any other peculiar hobby aside from music?

I have rather peculiar hobbies. I collect Transformers figures, primarily from the original 1984 animated series (Generation 1/G1).

2. Have you ever heard a sound that changed your life permanently?

I think any track with a powerful message/energy changed my life slightly. It’s like a puzzle: you need lots of pieces to assemble it.  

3. Do you think some people are born nostalgic?

I would say yes. Some people are born to look toward the future, some to live fully in the present, and others—including myself—often look back at the past with a sense of longing, knowing that those moments can never truly return.
